It’s Chris here (Hutch Recruitment Lead), with your monthly careers blog post from Hutch HQ. This month, I'll be talking about an important part of our recruitment process, as well as sharing our latest vacancies. As always, drop me a line on LinkedIn if you have any questions! Hutch Cultural Interviews
A key part of our recruitment process here at Hutch is our final stage culture interview. These are tremendously valuable for us as they help assess the potential of candidates to positively contribute to our environment and values. In addition, it gives candidates an opportunity to evaluate us and our environment to see whether they feel it could be a good fit for them.
More recently we’ve returned to on-site interviews, including a studio visit as part of the interview process, allowing candidates to experience first-hand the company's collaborative and passionate atmosphere. This approach helps us ensure that new hires not only fit in with the existing culture but also bring something unique to enhance it. It's a way for both parties to gauge if there's a good match for working together effectively in the long run. So what should you consider when preparing for a cultural interview here at Hutch? Here are some pointers!
Values Alignment: You may be asked questions to assess your alignment with Hutch’s core values. Find out more about our values here.
Team Dynamics: Expect questions that explore your ability to work effectively within a team. We places importance on collaboration and teamwork, so our interviewers may inquire about your past experiences working in team environments and how you handle conflicts or challenges within a team setting.
Inclusivity and Diversity: We really value inclusivity and diversity within our workforce. You may be asked about your experiences working with diverse teams and how you contribute to creating an inclusive work environment.
Feedback and Growth Mindset: Hutch fosters a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Expect questions about your approach to giving and receiving feedback, as well as examples of times when you've actively sought out opportunities for growth and development.
Passion for Gaming: Given that Hutch is a mobile gaming company, you can anticipate questions about your interest in gaming. Be prepared to discuss your favourite games, your understanding of current trends in the gaming industry, and how your passion for gaming aligns with the company's mission.
Time for Questions: We always encourage candidates to come with any questions they might want answering - not only will you gain further insight into Hutch but it also showcases your enthusiasm and interest in becoming a Hutchie.
Overall, candidates should expect cultural interviews here to be two-way conversations where they can learn more about the our culture and values while also showcasing how they would contribute positively to the team. Being genuine, enthusiastic, and prepared to discuss your experiences and values will help you make a strong impression during the interview process.
