Turbo Assembly Issue Resolution

Thank you everyone for your continued patience while we have been working on the solution to the issues with Turbo Assembly from a couple of weeks ago. We are now ready to share the sum of what will happen. Here are the main things you need to know - 1. the rollback of rewards from the original version of the design, 2. the preservation of relevant progress, 3. the re-run of the design with a few mechanical changes, and 4. compensation as a general apology for all the frustration and inconvenience this has entailed.

  1. Rollback

The following rewards are currently being removed from players’ garages:

  • Any drops from the “Collect Epic (A) or better Acura or Nissan Coupes or SUVs” Objective goals

  • Any drops from the “Start fusing Epic (A) or better Acura or Nissan Coupes or SUVs” Objective goals

  • Any Ultra Rare drops from the “Log in daily” Objective goals

  • Any Ultra Rare drops from the “Win Event Matches” Objective goals

  • Any Ultra Rare drops from the “Spend Cash” Objective goals

  • Any Ultra Rare drops from the “Get a free pull for every X dropped from the mini-set!” Objective goals

  • Any Volkswagen Beetle LSR drops

This will follow the same process as it has in the past. Any cars that are still owned will simply be removed from the garage. If the car has been sold, it will be charged at the stock sale cost for that rarity. If the car has been used as fusion food then it will be charged at the following costs: 800,000 Cash for a Legendary (S), 200,000 Cash for an Epic (A), 50,000 for an Ultra Rare (B), and 12,500 Cash for a Super Rare (C). This is to ensure that the offset players receive is equivalent to the value they received from the car.

2. Re-run

The design will be re-run in mostly the same form, with the following key change: the rewards for the Objective goals for logging in, winning Event matches, spending Cash, collecting Epics or better from the Event criteria, and fusing Epics or better from the Event criteria, have effectively been moved from Objectives to Challenges. Each time you beat a tier of that Objective, you will receive an item that unlocks the next round of the relevant Challenge. You are effectively getting the same rewards for each tier of the Objective that you complete - this purely mechanical change is in order to allow us to preserve valid progress from the first run of the design (more on that later!)

The Objectives track will otherwise be re-run in the same form. The Event will be re-run with high-value packs as the primary rewards.

3. Progress preservation

As mentioned above, the rewards for some of the Objective goals have been moved into Challenges. Players who collected Epics or better from the Event criteria, started fusing Epics or better from the Event criteria, or spent Cash, during the initial window of time the design was originally live, will receive instances of the item that gates progression through the relevant rewards Challenge, in line with how many tiers of the relevant goal they completed. For example, if a player completed 3 tiers of the Objective for fusing Epic or better cars from the Event criteria, then they will receive 3 A+ Collection Reward Tokens, allowing them to proceed through the first 3 rounds of the A+ Collection Rewards Challenge right away. This effectively ensures that anyone who invested in-game resources towards the collection, fusion or Cash spend goals retains the progress they made towards those goals.

4. Compensation

There were 4x Ceramic packs available in the Objectives track, for collecting the cars from the mini-set. These packs were obtainable much more easily than they should have been, by virtue of the error with some of the Objectives being much easier to complete than intended.

Rather than rolling back the rewards obtained illegitimately from these packs, and as compensation for the inconvenience and frustration of the past couple of weeks, we will be ensuring that every player can claim all 4x of these Ceramic packs. We will be sending all players a number of items that should make visible to them a Challenge containing any Ceramic packs they have not already claimed. So for example, a player who claimed none of them will see a Challenge containing all 4x Ceramics, whereas a player who already claimed 3 of the 4 with minimal effort due to the bug, will see a Challenge containing just 1x Ceramic.

The rollback is rolling out as we speak, and the re-run and compensation will go live at 3pm UTC.

We would like to take this moment to apologise again for the issues here. The nature of the design meant that a relatively simple bug had far-reaching effects that were complex to resolve, and we’re sorry it took us a while to deliver a solution. The bug itself has been fixed and this particular issue should not recur.
